The design of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sign provides internationally recognized images that are quickly understood by a global workforce. ANSI sign formats are based on three important elements, including a safety header, images, and the safety message.
ANSI-style signs use upper case lettering, and the message is generally centered underneath the header. Visual alert symbols (triangle with an exclamation point!) are typically on the top left on the header. The approved headers that indicate hazardous situations are Danger, Warning, Caution and Notice.
